Based on our favorite small solo open canoes, comes a new series of small decked canoes. Designed to bring the usefulness of the solo canoe to you in a decked version, reminiscent of the Rob Roys and MacGregors of old. Smaller and lighter weight than most, these boats will prove to be the perfect mix for lakes and river paddling, knocking about (with class!), fishing or photography. Built with stability and maneuverability in mind, you will find these boats a delight to paddle. Not so small as to be cramped, but being built in cedarstrip, light enough for anyone to carry.
We made this a series of three suitable by size for a lot of uses. We started with the underwater shape of our Teal and Widgeon canoes. We then lowered the depth for ease of paddling, and added a deck to keep things dry, The cockpit as drawn is slightly larger but the same height as our sea kayaks to allow plenty of foot room; however cockpits can be changed when we build one for you. Bulkheads are installed front and rear for safe flotation and storage. These should be the finest of the recreational designs you will ever see. With a layer of 6 oz. Fiberglass cloth inside and out these boats should weigh in at 35 lbs for the smallest to 40 lbs for the 14 footer. Seats are foam as is the backrest, but if you have other preferences we can work them into your personal boat.

Widgeon DS28" wide. Cockpit front 13" deep. Rear deck 10" high. Bow 13" and stern 12" high.
